"... animal sacrifice-- an allowance to maintain natural proportion"The planet earth is nature’s creation with shared resources between varied life forms, such as humans and animals and animal sacrifice is an allowance to maintain balance between various life forms. This in turn contributes to maintain natural balance. Holy Quran relates how the natural balance is maintained [ 79: 27- 33] Are you more difficult to create or the heaven? He constructed it. He raised its masses and proportioned it. And He dimmed its night and brought out its daylight. And the earth after that He spread. And from it, He produced its water and its pasture. And the mountains He anchored. A source of enjoyment to you and your animals Particularly significant in the verses quoted is the fact: He raised its masses and proportioned it. To maintain the natural proportion, an allowance has been made for animal sacrifice.
The allowance is explained in [ 5: 4] the exposition relates: People ask you [ O Rasool] what is made lawful for them.
Tell them that excepting what is Har’am, all pleasant things are Hal’al. You can also eat the flesh of animals seized by your beasts of prey whom you have trained by means of the capability given to you by Allah. You must pronounce the name of Allah over these animals and thus take good care of Laws of Allah Who is swift in reckoning.
What is Har’am, stands enunciated [ 5: 3] refer also to [ 2: 173] Carrion, flowing blood, flesh of swine, that which has been dedicated to someone other than Allah, that which has been killed by strangling or by being gored, that which has been partly eaten by wild beasts, unless you have slaughtered it properly before its death, that which has been sacrificed on altars, that which has been apportioned by means of driving arrows.
